An experienced and seasoned hands-on leader leader with a proven track record of managing engineering teams within a matrix structure, responsible for a team of approximately 5-15 engineers.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
The Engineering Manager, Software Engineering's key responsibilities are as follows:
• Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain top engineering talent.
• Define team objectives, best engineering practices, policies, and skill competencies.
• Ensure that the delivered solutions conform to the agreed-upon principles and best practices while aligning with the Chapter Area and Tribe Quarterly Business Review strategic objectives.
• Establish, enhance, and execute the engineering vision for internal customers.
Other responsibilities include overseeing various people processes such as recruitment, performance assessments, personal development of team members, and allocation of staffing needs across tribes and squads. The Engineering Manager is also expected to drive team member growth through continuous learning and development opportunities, contribute to shaping the team's vision, and guide work methodologies.
The successful candidate should be proficient in the Agile Mindset and Agile Ways of Working as a role model. They should have experience in stakeholder management and be able to communicate effectively with engineers, customers, and other interested parties. Additionally, they are expected to deliver strategic solutions that enhance systems, optimize operations, and drive growth while contributing to the QBR strategy suggestion and implementation at the tribe level.
Technical / Professional Skills
Expert in Angular/React, HTML 5.0, CSS3, ES6+, Typescript BDD & TDD, specifically Karma, or JEST & Cypress.Rest, JSON
